How To Add Lubricating Grease To The Lifting Winch?

The key to adding grease to the aluminum shell Lifting Winch is to find the oil nozzle, aim the grease gun at it, and stop when new oil overflows. Different parts and models have different refueling points, please consult EMET.

Preparation before refueling

Shutdown and power outage: First, disconnect the power supply and wait for the equipment to cool down to ensure safety.

Clean the oil inlet: Use a cloth to wipe off the dust and oil stains around the oil inlet to prevent impurities from being pressed into the bearing.

Choose the right grease: generally use lithium based grease # 1 or # 2, calcium based grease for humid environments, and high-temperature resistant grease for high temperature conditions.

‌‌

Find the refueling point

Method 1: The outer covers of the bearings at both ends of the motor rotor shaft usually come with grease fittings, which can be directly aligned and pressed without removing the covers.

Method 2: Remove the octagonal screws from the motor end cover and bearing cover, and apply grease to the gear by hand, which is more laborious.

Other parts: transmission components such as chains, sprockets, guide rails, roller bearings, etc. also need to be lubricated regularly, and the lubrication points should be found according to the equipment lubrication diagram.

Operations

Inject oil with a grease gun: Align the nozzle with the grease nozzle, evenly press the pressure rod, and slowly inject.

Observation of overflow holes: For designs with overflow holes, if new oil overflows, it indicates that the tank is full and immediately stops; If there is no overflow hole, control the dosage according to the equipment manual.

Apply evenly on the rotating shaft: After adding, gently rotate the motor shaft or related components to evenly distribute the grease.

Clean up excess grease: Wipe off excess grease on the surface to prevent dust from forming sludge.

‌‌

Notes

Do not fill too much: The bearing chamber is usually filled with 1/3 to 1/2 of the space, as excessive filling can increase resistance and cause heating and oil leakage.

Regular maintenance: It is recommended to replenish bearings once every quarter, guide rails once a week, roller bearings once a month, and shorten the cycle of continuous operation equipment.

Different devices have differences: there are many models of aluminum shell elevators, it is recommended to first read the manual or consult the manufacturer to confirm the refueling point and cycle.
